Articles

  • Femoral ring (Wikipedia) — the 1.25 cm opening at the abdominal end of the femoral canal, bounded by the inguinal ligament in front, the pectineal ligament behind, and the lacunar ligament medially. It’s filled with extraperitoneal fat, and it’s the route a loop of intestine takes to become a femoral hernia.
  • Radiology (Wikipedia) — the medical specialty of imaging inside the body to diagnose and treat it: plain X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, and image-guided interventional procedures. It began with Röntgen’s discovery of X-rays on 8 November 1895.
