Hello everyone, and welcome to issue #10 of Music findings. Ten straight off the playlist, and the spread is wide this time: a 19th-century piano piece, a 1998 anime theme, Chicago horns and a bit of dembow.

• Bad Bunny — WHERE SHE GOES — Jersey club kicks under a dembow bounce; it keeps threatening to drop and mostly refuses:

• Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners — Evergreen — two verses, 1:26, written as an album intro in 2017; TikTok made it one of the shortest songs ever to hit the Hot 100:

• Erik Satie, Philippe Entremont — Gymnopédie No. 1 — 1888, and still the sound of a room slowly emptying. Chords that never quite resolve.

• EKKSTACY — i walk this earth all by myself — bedroom coldwave: cheap reverb, a bassline doing the heavy lifting, gone in two and a half minutes.

• Kembe X — Cozy Forever — warm strings, an unbothered flow, and that’s the man himself on flute in the bridge.

• Ax and the Hatchetmen — Hotel Room — six-piece Chicago indie rock with a horn section that refuses to sit in the background.

• Childish Gambino — Les — deep in Camp, five minutes of Gambino picking at himself instead of showing off.

• Alex Warren, Jelly Roll — Bloodline — pop-country about inherited damage and trying not to pass it on; Jelly Roll’s verse is the point.

• Coldplay — Adventure of a Lifetime — that disco guitar riff arrives in the first four seconds and carries the whole song.
